Nizamabad: Demanding the State government to scrap the app based urea booking system, farmers staged a protest at Uppalvai in Kamareddy on Sunday.

The farmers charged that supply of urea bags was affected after the government introduced the app based booking system. They also complained that information being shared on the app was also confusing and that there was mismatch in the availability of quantity being claimed by the officials.

At few times, officials were not sharing the information over availability of urea. This was compelling the farmers to stage protests, they said as per reports.

To do away with all these hardships, the government should scrap the app based booking urea system. The conventional manual distribution system should be reintroduced, the farmers demanded.

They also charged that due to the delay in supply of urea, they were made to do rounds of the distribution centres. Apart from technical issues in the system, many were not acquainted with using smartphones, the farmers said.
