Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy alleged that the union government was showing discrimination against Telangana state when it came to procurement of paddy. He was speaking at a preparatory meeting over protests against the Centre’s stubborn attitude towards the state, here on Thursday.

Addressing the TRS workers, Indrakaran advised the rural and urban civic bodies to adopt resolutions against the union government’s discrimination and to take up widespread protests by maintaining coordination. He asked them to expose centre’s dual standard during the agitations.

The minister demanded that the Centre immediately procure paddy produce of yasangi season from the farmers. He warned that farmers would revolt against the union government if it did not buy the grain. He stated that the TRS would not tolerate if the BJP neglected the farmers who feed the country. He wanted the Centre to implement one nation-one procurement policy.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijayalaxmi, municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar and leaders of the TRS party were present.
