Father and son allegedly drown during Ganesh idol immersion at Naguluru Cheruvu, Dundigal
A father and his 7-year-old son, Srinivas and Wesley, allegedly drowned at Naguluru Cheruvu, Dundigal, while immersing a Ganesh idol. Their auto-rickshaw reportedly struck a boulder and slipped into the lake. DRF teams and Dundigal police are investigating.
Hyderabad: A father and son duo accidentally drowned allegedly during Ganesh idol immersion at the Naguluru Cheruvu in Dundigal on the suburb on Sunday night.
According to available information, Srinivas (31) and his son Wesley (7) went for the immersion of the Ganesh idol which was installed at their colony when the mishap occurred.
The victims along with other residents from the colony went to the lake in an auto-rickshaw. In the darkness, the vehicle reportedly struck a boulder on the lake bed and slipped into the lake. Both father and son drowned in it.
The Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams launched search operations in the lake. The Dundigal police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
