Hyderabad: The Medipally police arrested a father and daughter on charges of cheating people after promising jobs in the Indian Railways and other government departments.
According to the police, G Nagaraj (50) and his daughter Divya alias Divya Sri (35), residents of Lalaguda, lured one C Naveen Chary, a job aspirant from Peerzadiguda in Boduppal saying Divya worked as a manager in the railways and promised him a supervisor job through her recommendation.
Nagaraju allegedly collected Rs 5 lakh from Chary in installments and handed over a fake appointment letter. When Chary went to Rail Nilayam in November last year, he realized he was cheated.
Based on his complaint, the Medipally police booked a case and arrested the duo.
