Sangareddy: In a heart-wrenching incident at the Sigachi Industries blast site, a distraught father, desperate for news of his missing son, smashed his head with a rock after police stopped him from approaching the ongoing rescue operations.
S Ramadas, father of S Justin (20), who had been untraceable since the explosion, suffered a bleeding injury to his head, leaving police and health workers at the site in shock. Medical personnel stationed at the nearby health camp rushed to his aid and provided immediate treatment.
The incident unfolded on Thursday morning when over 20 members of Justin’s family, natives of Bandlaguda in Patancheru mandal, reached the accident site pleading with police to let them view the rescue efforts. When the police informed them that the operations were still underway and that public presence would hamper rescue efforts, emotions flared.
Despite officers trying to console the family, Ramadas, overwhelmed with grief, suddenly struck his head with a stone and collapsed. His son Justin had joined Sigachi Industries just two days before the explosion, and tragically died on the third day of his job.
For the last four days, Justin’s father, two sisters and other relatives have been moving between the Sigachi blast site, hospitals, and mortuaries, desperately searching for him or his body.
