Sangareddy disappointed as Revanth Reddy makes no development announcements during visit

Sangareddy: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s speech during his public meeting in Sangareddy has left the people of the district and even the Congress cadres disappointed as he made no announcements to any development works in the district.

Revanth Reddy confined his speech to just criticise the opposition leaders and hail his own party and the leaders. Shockingly, neither the district incharge minister G Vivekananda, district minister Damodara Rajanarasimha nor Sangareddy party constituency charge T Jagga Reddy sought any funds for the development of Sangareddy district or even for the constituency.

Even though Damodara Rajnarasimha sought funds for the Singur tourism project, the only issue he raised, Revanth Reddy did not even utter a single word on this during his speech later. At a time El Nino had its serious impact on Sangareddy district and the irrigation officials were also taking up repairing works on Singur, the farmers expected that the Chief Minister would announce compensation to the ayacut farmers. Even Andole MLA and Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha also failed to raise the issue even though most of Singur ayacut falls under his constituency and the ayacut left uncultivated until today.

Shockingly, Congress leaders from across the district, who occupied the dais, did not even present a single representation to the Chief Minister. When the BRS was in rule for the first two terms after Telangana was created, former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao used to announce special grants to every constituency he visited.

He used to announce the grants after examining the local needs and after receiving representation from the local MLA. However, the Congress government had failed to follow the good tradition. The farmers also expected grants for Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project, which aimed to lift Kaleshwaram water across Sangareddy district to provide irrigation water to 4 lakh acres.
