Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police on Thursday arrested a father and son on charges of cheating and raping two women, both siblings aged 32 and 23 years.

The arrested persons were Syed Hassan Askari (52) from Chanchalguda and his son Syed Afroz (23) from Old Malakpet. According to the police, Hassan Askari promised to solve the ill health, bad omen and financial problems of the elder sister and her family. She believed him and gradually she depended solely on him for all issues.

“After her divorce with her husband, the victim became acquainted with Askari and eventually he hypnotised and raped her multiple times saying he would drive away evil forces from her body. He then threatened and raped her younger sister too,” police said, adding that Afroz also raped the victim.

Based on a complaint from the victims, the Chandrayangutta police booked a case and arrested the father-son duo.
