Hyderabad: BJP OBC Morcha national president Dr K Laxman on Wednesday said the contest in the next Assembly elections would be between the BJP and all other parties put together.
In Uttar Pradesh too, the party contested alone and emerged victorious in the recently held Assembly election, he said at a press conference at the State party office.
Replying to a question on G.O 111, Laxman said it was not advisable on the part of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to say in the State Assembly that the city’s two important water bodies – Osmansagar and Himayathsagar – were not necessary for drinking water requirements.
“All governments should adhere to the rules and orders given by the Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal (NGT),” he said.
Stating that both Osmansagar and Himayathsagar were natural lakes, Laxman said: “The Chief Minister earlier said he would take necessary steps to protect all the water bodies in the State. But saying that Osmansagar and Himayathsagar were not necessary since water is being brought from Godavari River is inappropriate. Does the government intended to permit constructions near the two water bodies?” Laxman asked.
He also took exception to the Chief Minister’s remarks against the Central government for rendering injustice for Telangana on all fronts.
To another question, he said: “We don’t invite any leader to our party. Those who are attracted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and the party ideology can join the party,” he said.
