Final phase of gram panchayat polls passes off peacefully in Karimnagar
The final phase of gram panchayat elections in the erstwhile Karimnagar district concluded peacefully on Wednesday, with voters braving cold weather to cast their ballots. Karimnagar district registered the highest turnout at 86.42 per cent, followed closely by Peddapalli at 85.66 per cent.

Karimnagar: The final phase of gram panchayat elections for sarpanch and ward member posts passed off peacefully in the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Wednesday.
Despite chilly weather conditions, voters queued up at polling stations from the early hours to exercise their franchise.
The highest polling of 86.42 per cent was recorded in Karimnagar district. Out of 1,65,046 electors, 1,42,637 voters cast their votes in Ellandakunta, Huzurabad, Jammikunta, Veenavanka and Saidapur mandals.
In Peddapalli district, 1,22,111 electors exercised their franchise against a total electorate of 1,42,548. Polling of 85.66 per cent was recorded in Eligaid, Odela, Peddapalli and Sultanabad mandals.
Meanwhile, 79.14 per cent polling was registered in Rajanna-Sircilla district. Of the total 1,22,324 voters, 99,183 electors cast their votes in Yellareddypet, Veernapalli, Mustabad and Gambhiraopet mandals.
In Jagtial district, 1,36,917 voters exercised their franchise against a total of 1,71,920 electors in Buggaram, Dharmapuri, Endapalli, Gollapalli, Pegadapalli and Velgatur mandals. Polling of 79.64 per cent was recorded.
