Final rites of Nomula Narsimhaiah performed with State honours
Police personnel gave a gun salute to the late MLA firing three rounds in the air. Leaders and mourners observed two minutes silence in memory of the late leader.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao attended the funeral of Nagarjunasagar MLA Late Sri Nomula Narasimhaiah at Paalam village, Nakrekal of Nalgonda district.
Nalgonda: Mortal remains of Nagarjuna Sagar MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah were consigned to flames on Thursday with State honours at his agriculture field at Palem in Nalgonda district in the presence of his family members. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao attended the funeral rites and paid tributes to the late TRS MLA. The Chief Minister also consoled the bereaved family members.
Earlier, the body of Narsimhaiah, who passed away on Tuesday, was taken to his residence at Nakrekal from Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences, Narketpally, at 6.45 am and placed for public viewing for one hour. Later, the funeral procession was taken out from Nakrekal to his agriculture field at Palem where the last rites were performed. Hundreds of people participated in the funeral procession.

Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairman Nethi Vidya Sagar, Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, E Rajender and G Jagadish Reddy also attended the funeral.
Heavy security arrangements were put in place by the police at Palem in view of the Chief Minister’s visit. The Chief Minister arrived at Palem by helicopter from Hyderabad at 11.37 am. The police made heavy security arrangements at the helipad which was set up near the agriculture fields of Narsimhaiah. The Chief Minister left for Hyderabad at 12.07 pm after completion of the final rites.
More than 5,000 people attended the final rites and raised ‘Amar rahe Narsimhaiah’ slogans.
