Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a mattress-making unit at Vinayak Nagar in Mailardevpally in the early hours on Wednesday. No casualties were reported. Officials suspect a short circuit could have led to the fire.
The locals noticed the fire and thick smoke from the unit, which is surrounded by residential colonies, and alerted the fire department and police. Three fire engines were rushed to the spot and after over two hours of firefighting, the fire was doused completely.
The Mailardevpally police are investigating. The total worth of the property damaged is yet to be estimated.
