Telangana State Medical Council registers FIRs against 12 quacks

Out of the 12 quacks booked, four were from Vanasthalipuram, two from Dundigal, two from Bachupally, three from Sangareddy and one from Banswada in Kamareddy district

Hyderabad: Continuing its fight against the practice of unqualified medical practitioners (quacks), the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) has, in the past few days, registered cases against 12 such individuals, out of which 8 belonged to regions in and around Hyderabad while the rest were from districts.

Out of the 12 quacks against whom FIRs were lodged at the police station located nearest to the place of their illegal health care facility, four were from Vanasthalipuram, two from Dundigal, two from Bachupally, three from Sangareddy and one from Banswada.


Overall, in the last one year or so, the Medical Council has lodged FIRs against 412 quacks from across Telangana State for practising allopathy medicine without MBBS degree.

“Quacks posing as MBBS doctors are taking advantage of the vulnerable situation of patients. By prescribing antibiotics and other high-end medications without qualification, they are risking the lives of innocent public. There is a dire need to take action against such individuals,” says vice-chairman, TS Medical Council, Dr G Srinivas.

Cases filed by the Medical Council on quacks in Dundigal include Sathvik clinic operated by J Jithender, Swetha clinic run by Shekar. At Bachupally, FIRs were registered against K Aruna Kumari (Buchi Babu clinic) and Chandra Obul Reddy (Yesh first-aid centre).

At Vanasthalipuram, FIRs were registered against G Chandrakala (Smart Cure Centre), C Srinivas (Vasu medical and general store and clinic), P Mahesh (Ayansh diagnostic centre) and G Chandrashekar (Raajarshy infirmary).

At Sangareddy town police station limits, FIRs were registered against P Kishan Rao (Srinivas clinic), G Dastagir (Dastagir clinic) and D Malka Goud (Manikanta first-aid centre).

At Bansawada, Kamareddy district, the Medical Council registered an FIR was against B Shiva Kumar (Dhanwanari Clinic).
