Hyderabad: Telangana police booked the first case under Telangana Advocates Protection Act 2026 against a lady for attacking a woman advocate at a local court in the city.
The advocate, Nishat Raza, is representing a man, who is husband of a lady, Sanjana, in the Family Court at Purani Haveli. On Thursday, Sanjana came to the court to attend the case hearing when she came across Nishat Raza.
An argument ensued between them when Sanjana allegedly attacked the advocate in the premises of the court, alleging she was supporting her husband.
The woman advocate approached the Mirchowk police station and made a complaint against the woman. “A case under Section 4 of the newly enacted Telangana Advocates Protection Act 2026 is registered against Sanjana. A counter case is also registered against the advocate following the complaint made by Sanjana. Both the cases are being investigated,” said Mirchowk sub-inspector, Shekhar Reddy.
