Khammam: The district in-charge minister Vakiti Srihari stated that the State government has planned to replace chicken served to children once a week with fish as part of the midday meal scheme in government schools.
He, along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, held a meeting with officials of Khammam and Kothagudem to review the 99-day Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika here on Friday.
Khammam and Kothagudem district Collectors Anudeep Durisetty and Ankit, MLC Tata Madhusudhan, MLAs Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, Jare Adi Narayana, M Ramdas Naik, T Venkat Rao and Koram Kanakaiah took part in the meeting.
Srihari said that officials should work hard to ensure that the programmes undertaken by the government for the welfare of the poor reach the doorsteps of the people, even though the economic conditions were not conducive.
Srinivasa Reddy said that an officer not below the tahsildar cadre should be appointed as in-charge of SC/ST/BC and minority welfare hostels. They should visit the hostels once a week and check the quality of food. They would be held responsible if anything goes wrong at the hostels.
Officials should take steps to resolve the land issues between the Revenue and Forest departments through a joint survey and prepare proposals for the development of eco-parks, the minister said.
MLC Madhusudhan suggested that the 99-day action plan should be implemented by involving the gram panchayats and municipal bodies. Steps should also be taken to solve the problem of monkeys in the villages.
Khammam Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya, DFO Siddharth Vikram Singh, ZP CEO Deeksha Raina, Bhadrachalam ITDA PO B Rahul, Sub-Collector Mrunal Shreshta and others were present.
