Nirmal: A fisherman drowned while catching fish in the Kaddam Narayana Reddy irrigation project at the Kadem mandal headquarters on Saturday. Police said that Nagula Rajashekar (52) of Kadem met a watery grave after his legs got entangled in a fishing net when a country raft capsized due to strong gales. He was attempting to return to the shore on the raft when the mishap occurred. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Sujatha, wife of Rajashekar, lodged a complaint with the police. A case has been registered and an investigation has been taken up.
