Hyderabad: Volunteers from the Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA) and People For Animals (PFA) rescued five cobra snakes, three from Shalibanda and two from Moghalpura, during the Naga Panchami festival.
GHSPCA noted an encouraging shift in public awareness, with residents proactively alerting volunteers rather than harming the reptiles. Following the operations, Dr. Vishva Chaitanya examined all five snakes at Vishva’s Pet Clinic, and two cobras were found fit for immediate release into their natural habitat. Another two require roughly 10 days of medical observation, while one remains in critical condition under intensive care.
Around 35 GHSPCA and PFA volunteers participated in the city-wide rescue and awareness campaign.
