Five Hyderabadis on GROHE Hurun India Real Estate Rich List

Hyderabad ranks fourth in most number of entrepreneurs on the list.

Hyderabad: Five Hyderabad entrepreneurs made it to Grohe Hurun India Real Estate Rich List 2020. Rameshwar Rao Jupally and family (My Home Constructions) led the Hyderabad charts with a wealth of Rs 5,450 crore and are ranked at 11th position pan-India.

C Venkateswara Reddy of Aparna Constructions & Estates and S Subramanyam Reddy of Aparna Constructions & Estates occupied the second and third spots in the city with wealth of Rs 5,230 crore and Rs 5,180 crore, occupying 12th and 13th spots pan-India, respectively.


G V Rao and family of SAS Infra stood fourth in Hyderabad and 49th nation-wide with a wealth of Rs 1,010 crore. GVK Reddy and family of Taj GVK stood fifth in Hyderabad and 72nd nation-wide, with a wealth of Rs 460 crore.

The Grohe Hurun India Real Estate Rich List 2020 ranks 100 individuals from 71 companies and 15 cities. Among States/Union Territories, Maharashtra tops with 37 in the list, followed by Delhi and Karnataka with 22 and 20 respectively.

City-wise, Mumbai leads the list with 31 individuals, followed by New Delhi and Bengaluru with 22 and 20 individuals, respectively. Hyderabad ranks fourth in most number of entrepreneurs on the list.

Wealth creators:

With a wealth of Rs 44,270 crore, Mangal Prabhat Lodha & family of Lodha Group is the richest person for the fourth consecutive year. His wealth increased by 39 per cent in the current year. Lodha Group had the highest revenue from operations among all the real estate developers in India during the pandemic hit year 2020.

With a wealth of Rs 36,430 crore, Rajiv Singh of DLF ranked second on the list and registered an increase of 45 per cent in wealth, backed by 50 per cent rise in DLF’s share price. With a 70 per cent increase in wealth and current wealth of Rs 26,260 crores, Chandru Raheja and family of K Raheja Corp moves up two spots and occupies the third spot.

With Rs 280 crore net worth, the youngest on the list is Aditya Chandak (36) of Chandak Group and at Rs 2,170 crore, oldest on the list is P R S Oberoi (91) of East India Hotels.

About 14 entrepreneurs from seven companies come from non-construction business conglomerates such as Piramal Realty, Godrej Properties, Kalpataru, Indiabulls Real Estate, Bharti Realty, Mahindra Lifespace Developers and Shapoorji Pallonji.
