Five-member phone snatching gang arrested in Hyderabad
Kanchanbagh police arrested a five-member gang involved in mobile phone snatching and pocket picking in Hyderabad. Fourteen mobile phones were seized. The gang reportedly erased device details before selling them to a receiver, who was also taken into custody.

Hyderabad: The Kanchanbagh police on Saturday arrested a five-member gang involved in phone snatching and pocket picking. The police seized 14 mobile phones and accessories of the gadgets from them.
The arrested persons are Ambata Naresh, Banala Arun Kumar, Mekala Chiranjeevi, Thota Suri, Thota Chandu and the receiver Sandeep Jaiswal.
According to S Sreenivas, DCP Rajendranagar, the gang was involved in multiple offenses of phone snatching and theft in the city. The gang operated in an organised manner, with some members selecting the target while one or two of them kept a watch on the movement of police. “After stealing the mobile phones, the gang also erased the identifying details from the gadgets to evade technical detection. The gang sold it to Sandeep Jaiswal for Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 each,” said the official.
The arrested persons are produced before the court and remanded.
