Hyderabad: What if a dinner plan could feel like stepping into lost kingdoms, mythology and ancient worlds? Hyderabad’s themed eateries are creating experiences where design, ambience and storytelling become just as memorable as the food. From towering stone structures to heritage-inspired spaces, these restaurants offer far more than just a meal. Here are five themed eateries in the city that are worth trying:
Babylon 2.0
Located in Nanakramguda, Babylon 2.0 draws inspiration from Mesopotamian heritage blended with Roman elegance. Spread across one lakh square feet, the space feels grand and cinematic with towering stone arches, colossal domed ceilings, sculpted walls and cascading water features. The restaurant’s menu reflects this diversity with Mediterranean small plates, wood-fired grills, hand-stretched pizzas and modern Indian classics.
Moai
At the Financial District, Moai takes inspiration from the mysterious Moai statues of Easter Island. The 24,000-square-foot restro bar features towering 15-foot Moai sculptures across the property, giving the venue a dramatic identity. Guests enter through custom-carved wooden doors etched with sacred symbols and walk along pebble-shaped granite pathways lined with koi ponds holding nearly 4,000 fish. Quarry-cut stone walls, tropical greenery and a 360-degree stone bar create a setting that feels both calming and visually striking.
Dune
Dune in Jubilee Hills brings Egyptian grandeur into Hyderabad’s dining scene. Golden tones, hieroglyphic-inspired art and desert-themed décor transport diners into a setting inspired by ancient Egypt. Low seating and soft lighting add warmth to the opulent interiors, while crafted cocktails complete the luxurious atmosphere.
Mythus
Mythus, a Greek-inspired rooftop brewery in Gandipet, combines Mediterranean aesthetics with a relaxed social atmosphere. Alongside Greek-inspired cuisine, the venue hosts pottery workshops, candle-making sessions, sundowners and live music performances. While it often transforms into a lively party destination by night, it also offers quieter corners for diners seeking a peaceful dining experience.
Zythum
Inspired by Egyptian brewing traditions, Zythum in Jubilee Hills takes its name from the brew once associated with the land of the pharaohs. The 500-seater café spreads across three floors with Egyptian-inspired décor and an in-house brewing room crafting beers like Zythos, Spaten and Pharaoh.
