Hyderabad: The fire personnel, police and the NDRF teams continued their operation on Sunday to rescue five persons still trapped inside the building where fire broke out on Saturday. The fate of the trapped persons is not yet known.

Five persons were trapped in the second cellar of the building when the fire broke out. The fire broke out in the building on Saturday afternoon and was brought under control in the evening after the fire department deployed around 17 fire tenders and a huge number of water tankers.

The firefighters had to face problems entering the building. The glass facade of the building had to be broken, the wall drilled and other alternatives deployed to bring the fire under control and rescue the people trapped inside.

Senior officials of the police, revenue and fire department supervised the operations till late in the night.

A team of experts from the JNTU will visit the spot to inspect the building. In all likelihood, the building will be demolished as it had suffered huge damage due to the fire.
