Hyderabad: Describing food donation as a divine thing, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat on Monday motivated the donors to participate actively in a free meal distribution programme of Duddhara Foundation at Jawaharnagar here.
Duddhara Foundation, has come forward with a new initiative – ‘Just 500’, providing the lesser fortunate children with a well-balanced home-cooked meal. People who wish to join the services of the Foundation can donate Rs 500 towards the initiative, using which the organisers would provide food to 30 needy persons, a press release said.
Speaking at the programme, where 500 nutritious meals were distributed to people, Bhagwat said providing free food to those in need was a noble thing. “If you cannot feed a hundred people, at least feed one”, he said.
