Forest beat officer caught taking bribe in Kothagudem

An Anti-Corruption Bureau team caught a forest beat officer in Kothagudem district red-handed while accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe for not interfering in cultivation on assigned land. The accused will be produced before a special court in Warangal.

Kothagudem: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have caught a forest beat officer (FBO) red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant at his office in Gundala in the district on Thursday.

The accused, Banoth Naresh, serving at Nadigudem section and in-charge of Sayanapalli in Gundala forest range, demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant. He demanded the money for not interfering in the cultivation of five acres of patta podu land which the government has assigned to the complainant’s father at Venkatapuram village.


The tainted money was recovered from the accused. He will be arrested and produced before the Special Judge for Special Police Establishment (SPE) and ACB cases in Warangal, Khammam range ACB DSP Y Ramesh informed.
