Forest department honours Vanajeevi Ramaiah biopic production team in Khammam
The Khammam forest department, in collaboration with Vaaswik Foundation, felicitated the production team of the award-winning biopic Vanajeevi Ramaiah. The event, led by DFO Siddharth Vikram Singh, honoured the film crew for portraying the life and contributions of Padma Shri awardee late Ramaiah, who dedicated his life to environmental protection.

Khammam: The district forest department in collaboration with Vaaswik Foundation felicitated the award winning biopic ‘Vanajeevi Ramaiah’ production team at an event organised by district forest officer Siddharth Vikram Singh here on Thursday.
Chief conservator of forests, Bhadradri circle, D Bhima Naik speaking at the event praised Padma Shri awardee late Ramaiah for dedicating his life to the protection of nature and the environment. His work brought recognition to Khammam district and Telangana, he said.
The official also appreciated the support extended by his family in Ramaiah’s noble journey while recalling his generosity in handing over the valuable red sandalwood trees he had nurtured to the government, reflecting his commitment to public welfare.
The DFO Vikram Singh stated that over the past six months, the forest department has extended support for the film shooting at Velugumatla Urban Park in Khammam and in Vikarabad forests. Everyone should draw inspiration from Ramaiah’s life by undertaking tree plantation and protecting wildlife, he noted.
The film team, director and Nandi Award recipient Vemuganti, producers Nidigondda Naresh Kumar and Lingampalli Chandrashekar, actress Nagarani (who portrayed Janakamma), music director Ballepalli Mohan, and cinematographer Thota V Ramana were honored with shawls and certificates of appreciation. Actor Brahmaji who portrayed Ramaiah sent a video message.
It might be noted that the film Vanajeevi Ramaiah received Telangana government’s Gaddar Award–2025 in the short film category. A cash cheque of Rs. 1 lakh was presented as a fixed deposit to Janakamma, the wife of Ramaiah.
Mayor P Neeraja, additional Collector P Srinivas Reddy, green activists Durshala Satyanarayana, Venu Gopal; fans and family members of Ramaiaih attended the event.
