Adilabad: Boath MLA Anil Jadhav on Saturday warned that Forest officials would not be tolerated if they harassed Podu farmers. He extended his solidarity to the farmers who staged a sit-in protest on the road at Babjipet village in Echoda mandal.
Jadhav asserted that he and his supporters would go to any length if officials inconvenienced the farmers under the pretext of forest and wildlife protection. He advised the officials to change their tone when interacting with the public and handle the Podu land issue with sensitivity. He urged them to withdraw any attempts to harass farmers.
The MLA criticised the Congress government for pursuing what he termed as anti-farmer policies and demanded that land titles be issued to Podu farmers at the earliest.
He assured the protesting farmers that if the BRS returned to power and K Chandrashekhar Rao became Chief Minister again, land titles would be granted. He said people had voted for the Congress with hope, but the party had deceived all sections by failing to fulfil its poll promises.
