Hyderabad: The city police have issued an advisory to house owners, hotels, lodges, guest houses, homestays, educational institutions, hospitals and other accommodation providers, highlighting the mandatory submission of information related to foreign nationals staying on their premises under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, and the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025.
The advisory issued by the city police states that all accommodation providers are required to submit Form-III (Form-C) online for every foreign national staying on their premises. “This includes foreign passport holders, OCI card holders, Nepalese nationals and other foreign citizens. The details must be furnished through the prescribed online portal within 24 hours of the arrival of the foreign national,” the police stated.
The police further explained that accommodation providers must also report the departure of foreign nationals and maintain the relevant records for a minimum period of one year from the date of submission to the police authorities.
The officials said that educational institutions, including universities, colleges, schools and training institutes, should submit Form-II online for foreign students. “The form must contain details relating to admission, enrolment, arrival, departure, discontinuation of studies and other prescribed particulars concerning foreign students, including OCI card holders and Nepalese nationals wherever applicable,” the officials explained.
The police warned that failure to obtain the relevant documents would constitute a violation of the provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, and could attract legal action, including penalties under Section 23 (Penalty for contraventions of other provisions of this Act) of the Act.
Under Section 23 of the Act, the violator is liable to be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with a fine which may extend to Rs 3 lakh, or with both.
