Former Charminar AIMIM MLA Pasha Quadri passes away
Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, AIMIM General Secretary and a long-time associate of the Owaisi family, passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He represented the Charminar Assembly constituency for three consecutive terms from 2004 to 2018.

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, General Secretary, Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, passed away after a prolonged illness on Tuesday.
Ahmed Pasha Quadri, was associated with the AIMIM party for several decades and was one of the confidants of late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, father of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi.
After his term ended in 2023, citing health issues, Pasha Quadri refrained from contesting elections but continued to be associated with the party as General Secretary.
For the past few months, he was unwell and had also been admitted to hospital for treatment a couple of times. The Namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayers) of the former legislator will be offered after Zuhr salah at Vazeer Ali Masjid, Fateh Darwaza, on Wednesday.
He began his political journey as a Corporator in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad in 1986 in the Dabeerpura Ward. Over the years, he emerged as a prominent leader and was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. He had contested and won the Charminar Assembly seat in 2004 and retained it for three consecutive terms until 2018 when he was shifted to Yakutpura constituency.
A four-time legislator, Pasha Quadri worked closely with three generations of the Owaisi family and played a crucial role in strengthening the AIMIM organisation. He served as the long-standing General Secretary of the party and was widely respected for his commitment, discipline, and grassroots leadership.
He is survived by his son and two daughters.
