Hyderabad: Emphasizing the growing role of technology in journalism, World Bank External Affairs and Communications former manager, Eric Chinje urged students to embrace digital inclusion and emerging technologies like AI and ML to address global challenges in climate change, finance, and governance.

Delivering a special lecture organised by the OU’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) in memory of Late Sarwat Hussain, an academician and media visionary, here on Saturday, Chinje paid homage to his late friend and colleague, Hussain, highlighting his intellect, creativity, and humility that shaped his contributions to journalism and policy-making.

Additionally, she instituted gold medals for students securing the highest marks in the JMC postgraduate course.

OU Arts College principal Prof. C Kaseem and JMC department head Dr. T Satish Kumar, and journalism students from across the city participated in the event.
