Former Minister Harish Rao’s father passes away
Former Minister and Siddipet BRS MLA T Harish Rao’s father, Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, passed away in Hyderabad on Tuesday due to age-related ailments. Prominent leaders, including KCR, KTR, and CM Revanth Reddy, offered condolences as BRS suspended its programmes.

Hyderabad: Former Minister and Siddipet BRS MLA T Harish Rao’s father, Tanneeru Satyanarayana Rao, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday due to age-related ailments. Family sources said a native of Kothapalli in Karimnagar district, Satyanarayana Rao had been suffering from age-related health issues for some time.
A pal of gloom descended on Satyanarayana Rao’s native village Kothapalli, where he was widely respected for his simplicity and social service. His body has been kept at Harish Rao’s residence in Kokapet, to allow relatives, well-wishers and party leaders to pay their last respects. The last rites will be performed at the Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Film Nagar on Tuesday afternoon, family members said.
Prominent political leaders, including BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao, working president KT Rama Rao, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and several Ministers, MLAs and senior party functionaries expressed their condolences.
Chandrashekhar Rao, who shared a close bonding with his brother-in-law, the husband of his seventh sister Lakshmi, expressed shock over his demise. Immediately upon learning about the demise, he spoke to Harish Rao over phone and conveyed his deepest sympathies. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and recalled their close association. He is scheduled to visit the family to offer condolences and pay last respects.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also extended his sympathies, praying for the departed soul to rest in peace and for strength to the bereaved family.
BRS working president Rama Rao visited Harish Rao’s residence in Kokapet and paid floral tributes to Satyanarayana Rao. As a mark of respect, he announced the cancellation of all BRS party programmes and the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign for the day.
Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, D Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, BRS leaders G Jagadish Reddy, S Niranjan Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, P Sabitha Indra Reddy and several others extended condolences.
Party cadres, supporters and admirers of Harish Rao have been visiting his residence since morning, expressing solidarity with the family.
