Former Minister Prashanth Reddy stages protest with farmers on National Highway
Farmers and BRS leaders staged protests in Nizamabad and Nalgonda against alleged deductions in paddy procurement and delays in purchase. Former minister V. Prashanth Reddy criticised the government’s response, demanding fair pricing, better procurement systems and improved transport arrangements.

Nizamabad: Former Minister V Prashanth Reddy along with farmers staged a protest at Morthad under Balkonda constituency limits here on Monday against the practise of charging deductions in paddy procurement.
Demanding proper procurement and curbing exploitative deductions, the former Minister along with farmers staged a sit-in on the Nizamabad–Karimnagar highway.
Prashanth Reddy charged that despite making numerous phone calls to the District Collector and Ministers regarding farmers’ issues, none had responded. “Grade-One price should be offered to coarse-variety,” he
Furthermore, he urged the government to resolve the shortage of trucks required to transport the stocks from the drying floors. Due to protests on the national highway, traffic movement was severely affected.
Farmers and BRS leaders stage protest at Collector’s office in Nalgonda
Condemning the negligence of the Congress government in procurement of paddy stocks, the farmers and BRS leaders staged a protest in front of the District Collector’s Office in Nalgonda on Monday.
Former MLA C Linagaiah, former ZP Chairman B Narender Reddy and others participated in the protest. They raised slogans against the Congress government and demanded that procurement exercise should be expedited to bail out farmers from the crisis.
Later, they submitted a representation to the Deputy Collector, according to reports.
