Adilabad: Former minister Jogu Ramanna asserted that Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao’s tour to the district had not benefited Adilabad in any way.

Addressing newsmen here on Saturday, Ramanna condemned the statements of Rao, who said the State was reeling under a debt burden of Rs 8 lakh crore incurred by the previous BRS government from 2014 to 2023. He recalled that the government, after its formation, announced that Telangana had debts of around Rs 4 lakh crore as against the actual debts of Rs 72,000 crore. He found fault with Rao, who was a senior minister, for spreading misinformation.

The former minister opined that the district gained nothing from the two-day long tour of Rao. He recounted that Adilabad saw unprecedented growth on many fronts with the help of developmental works worth Rs 5,000 crore taken up by the then BRS government. He wanted the Minister to take steps to expedite various developmental projects pending in the district for quite a long time.

BRS leaders Mettu Prahlad, Vijjagiri Narayana, town president Ajay, activists Yasam Narsing Rao, Gandrath Ramesh, Sevva Jagadish, Dasari Ramesh, Kumra Raju, Butti Shiva Kumar, Annela Vasanth, Dayanand, Mahesh, Ashok and many others were present.
