Former Ranji player from Andhra Pradesh arrested for impersonation

Hyderabad: A former Ranji player from Andhra Pradesh who impersonated as personal assistant to a Minister from Telangana and cheated public, was nabbed by the city police on Saturday. An amount of Rs 10 lakh and one mobile phone was seized from him.
Budumuru Nagarajau (25) of Srikakulam in AP is allegedly involved in nine cases registered against him in Hyderabad and Cyberabad. He made phone calls to top executives of different hospitals, educational institutions, corporates and real estate companies, and introducing himself as a personal secretary to Minister demanded money from them, said Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar.
Using the modus operandi, Nagaraju collected an amount of Rs. 39,22,400 from nine persons who were associated with different companies, the Commissioner added.
On a tip off, the Commissioner’s Task Force (North) team nabbed him. Nagaraju who represented Andhra Pradesh in Ranji Trophy matches between 2014 and 2016, was earlier arrested by the police in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for his involvement in similar cases.
