Forty quintals of jowar destroyed in Adilabad fire

Forty quintals of jowar produce stored on a platform were destroyed in a fire at Balanpur village in Adilabad district’s Bazarhathnoor mandal on Thursday. Locals tried to douse the flames, while the cause of the fire is yet to be identified.

Adilabad: Forty quintals of jowar produce kept on a platform were gutted in a fire at Balanpur village in Bazarhathnoor mandal on Thursday. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Uyike Bheemrao, the farmer, claimed that the jowar stored on the platform was reduced to ashes. He raised an alarm after noticing the fire. Locals tried to douse the flames, but in vain. He said he had raised the crop by borrowing money from private moneylenders.
