Sirpur (U) mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district recorded Telangana’s lowest minimum temperature of this winter at 7.4°C on Sunday. Bazarhathnoor in Adilabad registered 8.4°C, Pembi in Nirmal dipped to 10.1°C, and Jannaram in Mancherial logged 11.5°C. The cold wave kept residents indoors, with many venturing out only after 10 am.
A tragic incident in Bazarhathnoor mandal, Adilabad, saw a woman killed and her son injured when a car driven by an allegedly drunk man rammed into their bullock cart. The accused was arrested following a protest by the victim’s family, who demanded justice before performing final rites.
At least 25 passengers were injured, one critically, after a private bus overturned on NH 44 near Bazarhathnoor in Adilabad on Saturday night. The bus was travelling from Vijayawada to Amaravathi, Maharashtra. Police registered a case and began investigation.
