Four arrested as 1.769 kg of alprazolam seized in Gandipet
The Prohibition and Excise Department seized 1.769 kg of alprazolam worth Rs. 24.18 lakh and arrested four persons in two separate cases in Gandipet. Officials said the suspects were allegedly involved in supplying the drug to persons from Medak and Mahabubnagar

Hyderabad: The Enforcement team of the Prohibition and Excise Department seized 1.769 kg of alprazolam, worth Rs. 24.18 lakh, along with vehicles, and arrested four persons in two separate cases in Gandipet.
Acting on information about alprazolam being sold to persons from Medak and Mahabubnagar districts, the enforcement team conducted checks in Manchirevula, Gandipet.
In the first case, officials intercepted a WagonR car and seized 751 grams of alprazolam from two persons. In another case in the same area, two persons travelling on a two-wheeler were intercepted and 1.18 kg of alprazolam was seized from them.
The arrested persons were identified as Lingraju Goud, T. Anjaneyulu, R. Ramesh and Katamayya, all from Medak and Mahabubnagar districts. Cases were registered against six persons, with two others, who allegedly supplied the alprazolam to the arrested suspects, also being booked.
