Hyderabad: A home guard working at Hussaini Alam police station and three others were arrested by the Falaknuma police for their alleged involvement in the murder of a mobile technician on Saturday night.

The police seized an axe, knives and mobile phones from home guard Mohammed Sami Mohiuddin alias Sami (32), Mohammed Amjad Mohiudin (25), Mohammed Ali (21) and Amer Mohammed Khan, all residents of Salaheen colony in Falaknuma.

DCP (South) Gajarao Bhupal said the victim Mohammed Arif had demanded Rs 2 lakh from his brother-in-law Amer Mohammed, saying he along with his wife had performed black magic on his girlfriend due to which she fell ill. He wanted the money to meet her medical expenses and threatened Amer and his wife with dire consequences if they did not pay, he said.

Amer Mohammed and his brothers then hatched a plan to kill Arif and on Saturday night, attacked Arif with lethal weapons at Jahanuma resulting in his death.
