Nirmal: Four notorious burglars allegedly involved in 25 offences were arrested by a task force team here on Saturday. Police recovered 12 kgs of silver, cash Rs 67,000, a car and melting machines from the four.
Briefing details of the arrest to media persons, SP Dr Janaki Sharmila said that Marepeddi Rajashekhar, Gadchanda Rajeshwar, Kalgaddawar Srikanth, all from Nirmal district and Sara Sai Kiran of Hyderabad were responsible for many burglaries in temples and houses.
During interrogations, the four confessed to committing the crimes in temples and houses in several parts of the district and Andhra Pradesh as well. They admitted to stealing gold and silver ornaments at night. They reportedly revealed that they were involved in 25 offences in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the past few years.
Sharmila commended Bhainsa ASP Sai Kiran, his counterpart from Nirmal, Srinivas, Inspectors Krishna, Sammaiah, SIs Limbadri, Ganesh, Srikanth, Ashok, SK Gaffar, HC Jagan Singh and other staffers for nabbing the offenders. She added that the team was forced to check burglaries.
