Warangal: The State government has sanctioned Rs four crore for construction of 25 health sub-centers buildings in Narsampet constituency. Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare, Vakati Karuna issued order asking the Managing Director, HMFW & MD NHM, TSMSIDC, to take the necessary steps for the construction as the identification of land and other formalities had already also been completed, said Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy.
In a press note, he said that 90 per cent of health sub-centers are still housed in rented premises in his constituency. “Due to this, the landlords are pressuring the ANMs to vacate their buildings citing different reasons in recent times. Keeping this in view, I have appealed to the government to allot funds for the construction of permanent buildings. While construction of eight against the total of 59 sub-centres has already been completed, as the government allotted funds for the 19 centres, I became the MLA. Now, the government has sanctioned Rs four crore (Rs 16 lakh per sub-center) for the construction of permanent buildings for another 25 sub-centers,” he added.
“Since identification of sites has been completed for the sub-centres, I would like to inform the people that in another six months all the sub centers will be completed and made available to the public,” Sudharshan Reddy said and thanked Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare Vakati Karuna for issuing the orders.
“Out of the total 59 sub-centers, 57 sub-centers have been sanctioned for permanent construction so far, while only two buildings were there for the sub-centres in the past,” the MLA stated.
