Four from Kagaznagar killed as car plunges from atop of bridge in Maharashtra

Four persons, including three women and a girl from Kagaznagar, were killed after a car plunged into a stream from a bridge near Chandrapur while returning from a hospital visit late at night

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Three women and a girl from Kagaz nagar town were killed on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries when a car in which they were travelling plunged into a stream from atop of a bridge on the outskirts of Sondo village in Devada Tehsil in Chandrapur district on Wednesday midnight.

Family members said that Salma Begum, wife of Zakeer, their daughter Shabreem, relatives Afza Begum and Safar, all belonging to Nizamuddin Colony in the town recieved serious injuries when they wer trapped under the car which fell in the stream, resulting in instantaneous death for the four at around 1 am. Two other relatives were also wounded in the mishap.


Zakeer, an auto,-rickshaw driver, the injured persons were shifted to a hospital in Chandrapur town. Their medical condition was said to be critical. They were returning after visiting a hospital for a medical emergency in Nagpur city at the time of the mishap.

The driver of the car was suspected to have dozed off at the wheel and lost control over the vehicle causing the mishap. A pall of gloom descended over the colony following the death of four persons from two families. A case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
