Four held for selling ganja in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The State Task Force (STF) of the Prohibition and Excise Department on Wednesday arrested four persons on charges of trying to sell marijuana.

As many as 66 kgs of marijuana worth over Rs 7 lakh were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons, Govind, Uttam, Mahmood and Chakrapani. The quartet was purchasing the substance from their associates Shiva and Vittal, who are absconding.

Shiva and Vittal were getting the substance from agency areas in Visakhapatnam and handing it over to the four persons who were in turn, storing it in their carpentry workshop in Mailardevpally. The quartet would pack the marijuana in sachets and sell them to some known customers here.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the workshop and arrested them.
