Mancherial: Sleuths of the Ramagundam Task Force arrested four persons for allegedly involving in a treasure hunt on the outskirts of Rebbena village in Kannepalli mandal on Tuesday. Another person is absconding. Four mobile phones and an auto-rickshaw were recovered from them.
Task Force Inspector AK Mahender said that the arrested were Kopparthi Prashanth, of Coal Cement Complex (CCC) in Naspur, Regunta Narayana of Mudigunta village in Jaipur mandal, Chippakurthi Mahesh and Kodi Tirupati belonging to Mancherial town.
The four were detained when moving suspiciously in an auto-rickshaw. During the course of interrogation, they admitted that they were on their way to excavate earth for tracing a treasure in a house belonging to one Mahesh in Konchevelli village in Dahegaon mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. They admitted that they had carried out a treasure hunt in Venkatapur forests of Kannepalli mandal by performing certain prayers in the recent past.
The Task Force Sub-Inspector Lachhanna, staffers Sampath, Shyamsundar, Sadanandam Goud, Venkatesh, Srinivas, Baskar Goud, Rakesh and Omkar took part in the operation.
