Nirmal: Four persons were killed on the spot, while another sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling collided with a container lorry in Bhainsa town late on Sunday night.

Police identified the victims as Bojaram Patel (42), Rajanna (60), Babanna (70) and Vikas (35), all from Kupti village in Kubeer mandal, while newly elected Sarpanch Gangadhar was injured when the accident occurred near a bridge between 1 am and 2 am. Gangadhar was shifted to a hospital in Nizamabad. His medical condition was said to be serious.

As per police, the five were returning to Kupti after visiting a resident of the village who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad. The four bodies were shifted to a government hospital in Bhainsa for post-mortem. Police suspected over-speeding by the car driver might have claimed lives. Further details are awaited.
