Four-member gang held for multiple thefts in Medak, gold and cash recovered
Medak police arrested a four-member gang at Chinna Shankarampet for multiple thefts in Khajapur village. Stolen gold, silver and cash were recovered. The accused, all locals, were produced before court after reportedly confessing to a series of house burglaries.
Medak: Medak police on Thursday arrested a four-member gang of thieves at Chinna Shankarampet and seized 13 tolas of gold ornaments, 95 grams of silver ornaments, and Rs. 1.24 lakh in cash from their possession.
Speaking to reporters, Toopran DSP Narendar Goud said a complaint was received from Chigulla Mallaiah, a resident of Khajapur in the mandal, who reported a burglary at his residence on July 9.
During investigation, the Chinna Shankarampet police detained the suspects after observing them moving suspiciously on Thursday morning. The accused were identified as Chigulla Mahipal, Chigulla Karnakar, Mala Mahesh, and Parisha Bhupal, all residents of Khajapur.
During preliminary questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement in the theft. Police said the gang had committed multiple burglaries in the same village over the past few years.
They were produced before court following their arrest. CI Venkataraja Goud, SI Narayana and other officers were present during the operation.
