Srikakulam: Four policemen died in a tragic road accident on the national highway at Sunnadevi in Palasa mandal on Monday. The deceased were identified as Armed Reserve Assistant Sub-Inspector of police K. Krishnudu, head constables Y. Baburao and P. Antony, and driver P. Janardhana Rao.

The accident occurred when the tyre of the van they were travelling in got burst and the vehicle leapt and fell into the opposite lane, and turned turtle hitting a speeding lorry. All of them died on the spot. They were returning after handing over the body of a jawan to his family in Bhairisarangapuram and attending the funeral.
