Hyderabad: Here is some news that is sure to bring cheer to the residents of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB).
Every household in SCB jurisdiction will now receive 20,000 litres of free drinking water per month. Orders to this effect were released on Wednesday by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.
The scheme is applicable from February 1, 2022, to all domestic slum category, domestic households and multi-storeyed buildings. According to the order, the SCB would continue its operations & maintenance and revenue collections as per the present status.
Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had decided to implement the Free Drinking Water Scheme in SCB limits to benefit the poor families despite the State government incurring an expenditure of around Rs.16.8 crore per year on account of the scheme.
