From deficit to surplus: Incessant rains puts Hyderabad and Rangareddy in rainfall excess
Two weeks of steady rain have turned Hyderabad and Rangareddy’s monsoon deficit into a surplus. Hyderabad has recorded 492 mm against a normal of 363 mm, while Telangana’s overall seasonal rainfall has exceeded the norm, reaching 498 mm so far.

Hyderabad: Rains in Hyderabad and its surrounding districts over the past two weeks wiped away the rainfall deficit for the ongoing southwest monsoon season.
In fact, from a deficit just a week ago, Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts are now in the excess category.
As of Thursday, the normal rainfall for Hyderabad, according to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), is approximately 363 mm. However, the city has already received 492 mm, placing it in the excess category.
Similarly, the normal rainfall for Rangareddy district until August 14 is 308 mm.
Medchal-Malkajgiri has received normal rainfall recording 386 mm, surpassing the normal rainfall of 348 mm.
Due to the recent heavy downpour, Telangana received 498 mm of rainfall, exceeding the normal rainfall of 457 mm for this time of year.
