Hyderabad: Fuel prices continue to rise for the third continuous day on Friday, with the petrol and diesel (per litre) rates in Hyderabad reaching Rs 110.96 and Rs 104.11 respectively.
The per litre prices have gone up by Rs 5.18 for petrol and Rs 5.93 for diesel since October 1. Since the start of the year, the per litre cost of petrol has increased by Rs 24.10, and that of diesel by Rs 23.70.
State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise the fuel rates on a daily basis, by taking into account the crude oil prices in the international markets, and the rupee-dollar exchange rates. G Vinay Kumar, president, Telangana State Petrol Dealers Association, said the prices were likely to rise further for one to two weeks.
“We are not expecting any correction by the government. As long as the international oil price remains volatile, the prices in India will keep on increasing. So, the common man should not expect any immediate relief,” he said.
