Hyderabad: Special teams from the SOT and CCS units have launched an intensive search for Ajith Kumar alias Shiva, who allegedly fled with Rs 60 lakh in cash in Gachibowli earlier this week.
Police said no concrete clues about his whereabouts have been found so far, and search operations are underway across multiple locations.
The CMC vehicle driver reportedly escaped with the cash on Thursday evening from an Axis Bank ATM in Gopanpally. He later abandoned the vehicle at Gaddar Chowrasta in Tellapur and travelled by auto-rickshaw to BHEL crossroads.
Police officials said the suspect checked into a lodge in Ashok Nagar, where he broke open the cash box and transferred the money into a bag. He then boarded a bus, got off at Miyapur, and is believed to have moved towards the IDA Bollaram area.
Police have intensified combing operations in Bollaram and Bachupally while analysing CCTV footage and call data records to trace the absconding driver.
