Gadwal natives die in bus-lorry collision on National Highway-40
A tragic accident on NH-40 at Peraipally Mitta, Allagadda, left two people dead and eight injured after a lorry rammed into a private bus carrying 32 passengers from Hyderabad to Puducherry. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
Jogulamba Gadwal: G Badrinath and Haritha, natives of the district, died on the spot when a lorry rammed into a private bus at Peraipally Mitta, Allagadda, on National Highway-40 on Sunday morning.
Around 32 passengers were travelling in the private bus, which was heading to Puducherry from Hyderabad when the incident occurred. After passengers requested the driver to stop the vehicle for a while to attend nature’s call, he parked it on the roadside. However, a lorry crashed into the bus from behind, according to reports.
Two persons died on the spot and eight others suffered grievous injuries in the accident. The condition of a few passengers is said to be critical. The injured were shifted to Government General Hospitals in Nandyal and Allagadda, the reports added.
