Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have deployed 6,500 police across the commissionerate on bandobast duties for the idol immersion on Sunday.

The immersion which commences on Saturday will continue on Sunday and Monday during which a total of 2,787 idols are expected to be immersed.

Of the 8,434 idols installed across Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, 620 idols will be immersed in the Hussain Sagar and 227 to be immersed on the final day while 1,054 large idols will be immersed in the IDL Tank at Kukatpally. Officials said at all the 35 important lakes across Cyberabad, 36 static and 54 mobile cranes have been deployed.

While flying drones are banned, anti-sabotage checks will be done continuously to sterilise the main procession route and bylanes leading to the route.
