Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team along with the Chaitanyapuri police busted a drug peddling racket and arrested five persons here on Monday. Police seized 140 ml of hashish oil, three bikes, six mobile phones, altogether worth Rs.6.8 lakh, from them.
The arrested persons were Shaik Mahamood Basha (29), a fashion designer from Kondapur, M.Omkarnadha Reddy alias Nani (23), a hotel management professional from Hafeezpet, K.Vijay Kumar (42), a businessman from Musheerabad, Suresh Goud (24), a food delivery executive from Kukatpally and B.Manikanta Reddy (26), a private employee from Bolarum. The absconding suspect is K.Laxman Rao from Visakhapatnam.
According to the police, Basha confessed that he procured the hashish oil from Laxman Rao at Rs.1,000 per litre and with the help of his associates sold it for Rs.1,500 to Rs.2,000 to customers in Hyderabad.
“Efforts are on to nab the other suspects,” police said.
